| Gregpa Visits, Artful Blogging, Nerd shoes |
[Jul. 19th, 2008|09:44 pm] |
Today was a great day, my Daddy visited. We went to market, Borders, and Boscov's.
I scored the newest issue of Artful Blogging I haven't gotten to look at it yet. It's my current favorite magazine, I'll write in my blog soon about my favorite Artful Blogging inspirations.

and these nerdy shoes ($24 at Boscov's) I have been living in my Birks and Chucks for a few years now. These geeky prepsters are going to be my rare date night shoes. For the movies, gallery openings, stuff like that.
Here's a piccie of Gregpa and Occy from this evening. He was a good boy for Gregpa. He ate a LOT today, giggled tons too.

See you tomorrow! Rachel-Marie

I have a bit of a sunburn on the spots where I couldn't quite reach. My morning was a bit of a mess, so I drove to Goose Spit and walked a long ways with my shoes off and my toes digging in sand. To my right I could hear the "hup two" of marching at the base, and every so often I changed my step to match theirs.
I wanted a dog, then, quite a bit, to throw a stick at and keep me company, but I took a long skinny seaweed and shaped it into a heart for the next person to find.
I sat and read for a few hours, wanting to sink into something other than my day so far, and I think it was the best thing I could have done. On the way home I cranked Sunday, Bloody Sunday and sang along as I drove with one hand on the wheel and one (my left) leaning out the window for more sunburn.
Tonight is our annual Lake wine tasting, but I am feeling groggy and all I want to do is read some more. I am also sick of Lake politics, and right now I miss riding my bike to the store, or to the water, or walking anywhere other than the mailbox. I know most of it is missing Keith, but I am tasting other feelings in there, of oppressiveness, of independence, of one way streets. I will stay at home and draw, I think, and I am certain my body can do without turning to the drink for a spell. |

I found this today while looking for dog stuff on Etsy . I know twinkiechansaid she wasn't a fan of dogs wearing clothing, so i thought she'd find this especially funny.

For the record, I admit it-I do dress up my dog but I don't wear matching outfits. But maybe I should, it would make me appear like the crazy dog lady...hmm.......anyway= Bettie has super short hair and a bald belly/chest. She is just a little thing and constantly cold to the touch, which is why we put shirts or sweaters on her. And I find it funny to see a dog wearing a dress, so I dress her up-I fully admit that.... LOL
I am unpacking and putting stuff away from last weekend. I listed a few things on the website but have alot more to do. I took 300+ pics this week and need to weed thru them and do editing. I wish I had a photography elf to do this for me. I took pics of some of the stuff I sold, but not everything. Now I am kicking myself, oh well.
Also, did you ever try (really go out of your way trying!) to become friends with someone and the more you hear them talk/or are around them the less you like them? Yet they have a gang of people around them who put them on a pedestal and swoon about them acting like they are gods gift to the world. And you sit there and think WTF, do they not see how obtuse, abrassive and crass this person is??? Why do we bother? Maybe we think we SHOULD be friends, if X is friends with Y and I love X-then I should love Y too, shouldn't I?? Well, maybe not.....

| the good + the bad |
[Jul. 19th, 2008|10:54 pm] |

So, the good first. I spent my Friday night in Frederick at Classic Electric getting tattooed. Not only did I get to hang out with my husband while he worked, I got to finally finish up this tattoo that has been an outline for over 2 years! Our friend Eric started it long ago, and well it is finally finished, and I love it! Forgot to add that yep Mary Blair is my favorite! This is actually my third Mary Blair tattoo :) :)
Afterward Tom and I went out to dinner and had a pretty fantastic evening all to ourselves.
And then…the bad! This morning I went to pick up the kidlets at my mom’s house, we had decided we would all hit a few yard sales and see what we could find. We did manage to get to 3 or 4 but then suddenly my car started to overheat. My car is only 8 years old and we bought it 5 years ago used from Tom’s parents. It is not glamorous and probably not the car I would choose (it has heated seats ha! something I don’t think I would ever pay for) But at the time I needed a car, and it worked well.
So I check the coolant, it is full, check to see that the fans are running when the car is on (they do) and then we are pretty much at a loss. We added water to the radiator and waited. I try driving a bit more just to see and the car begins to idle roughly (and temp gauge goes up and up) So I pulled over and called for a tow.
Anyhow turns out the head gasket on my car is blown. We have not gotten an estimate and will not until Monday, but I have heard this can be quite the pricey repair. So now it is a waiting + then deciding game. There is something I like about the idea of going down to one car in some aspects, but we are in a very rural area and Tom works 6 days a week in Maryland (too far to bike, and no one around for car-pooling) so I am not sure how practical that would be. Ugh car woes, it will be strange to be without a car for the next week or longer…we shall see how that goes!

not-so-drastic plunges, like:

edit: just the general shape, nothing fancy, just a flat? sweetheart neckline
Thanks! |

| New Shipping Rates |
[Jul. 19th, 2008|06:45 pm] |
Hello everyone!
My new shipping rates will go into effect on Monday evening, July 21, no earlier than 5pm. Until then, shipping is still free!
I have decided to do a trial on the new shipping, at least for a month, to see how it goes. I wish etsy had even more shipping options to choose from, like up to 5 items. Oh well.
US shipping: 1 item: $3.00 (first class) 2 or more: $4.80 (13oz or under will go priority, otherwise first class)
Canada: 1 item: $4.00 2 or more: $6.00
As for everyone else, you will have to email me if you want to buy something. The standard price will be $6.00 to ship one item, but if its more than one item, that can be discussed. I hesitate to add this option to my etsy site b/c I fear someone from Austrailia will order all my yarn for $10 shipping or something. :)
The new prices will also be posted clearly on my FAQs and on etsy.
I hope you find my prices fair! I think they are.
Have a great weekend and try to stay cool |

[Jul. 19th, 2008|05:36 pm] |
Me and my boyfriend are in a stable long term relationship but are looking to spice it up a little.
Due to a firefighting accident, my boyfriend is paralyzed from the waist down including all erectile functions. We are looking for a man or men who want to receive fellatio while my boyfriend delivers cunniligus to me. Kinky scenarios like this are all that turns him on since his accident and I'm eager to please him since he's been through such a traumatic experience.
I am 4'11, 212lbs, with firey red hair (the carpet match the drapes...oh yea!), and an insatiable appetite for the cock.
He is 5'10, 145 lbs, and balding due to scars from the fire.
We are also devote mormons and it would be a bonus if you are the same. |
